Featuring:
Rose L. Horton, MSM, RNC-OB, NEA-BC, CPCHE, FAAN | Executive Director Maternal Health, Huggies Healthcare
Description/Objectives:
This course is created by a nurse for nurses. The premise of this webinar is that all of us have experienced some trauma; as clinicians, as well as our patients and their families. To that end, it is important for us to hold space and understand that this is a shared experience. How we show up and engage is critically important for the patient/clinician relationship.
Define trauma, its prevalence, signs, characteristics, and impact on patients and clinicians
Evaluate one's own trauma and the role this may play in clinical care
Identify key components of a trauma aware care approach and its application in the perinatal and neonatal settings
Learn effective strategies to manage shared trauma
